Welcome To Merbear’s World

I’m a mother, a good person and an empath. I’ve been blogging since 2012.Β I’ve always loved words and wanted to become a writer.

My topics are generally about life, love, dogs, family, friendship, poetry, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, music, anxiety and depression. Sometimes, I also make an attempt at being funny.

I found out last year that my husband of 7 years was cheating on me with several women due to my health conditions because he considered me to be a burden and told my mother that he hadn’t signed up for this crap (direct quote.) Therefore, he felt entitled to do as he pleased.

So I felt entitled to toss his filthy ass out.

I now live a free life filled with a new purpose, with joy and gratitude that I’m getting another chance at happiness. I currently live with my two dogs and my adult daughter, who is going to college and still living at home. I have a great boyfriend for close to a year and he treats me so well, it’s sometimes hard to fathom.

  4. Hello! Sent here by El Guapo, a wonderful person that he is. I am so sorry to hear that you may be losing your home! That is horrible! I don’t know you but am happy to help and will be heading to the fundraising site shortly.

I too suffer from Fibro & depression in addition to Rheumatoid Arthritis. There are so many days when I want to give up but somehow I keep going and looking for the humor in life. Like you, humor is my best medicine. I was fortunate through my previous employer’s wonderful benefits, to get disability benefits from them as well as Social Security. I got denied the first time but kept fighting. That was in 1998 and I am still unable to work and suffer from many of the side effects of all these ‘monsters’.

I am glad Guapo sent me over here because I can now follow you and get to know you. Check out this post I recently wrote on my struggles, http://wp.me/p3h7aY-164

    Stay strong! πŸ™‚

  6. Guapo has become a good friend of mine, too. He sent me over to let you know that I will click on the link to help you along your way… I have friends with fibromyalgia and I know how hard life can be with that crappy disease. I often wonder why good folks like you have autoimmune problems and cash flow disasters, yet schmucks like Ted Nugent run around and have nice houses and get on TV. Makes ZERO sense to me… anyway, I’m a woman who was finally diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD at age 50 and now, at 57, I still laugh as much as I did in the old days. I mean, humor has gotten me through some horrific stuff, but there is nothing funny about YOU being put out of your home, sweetie. So opening my wallet, I hope you take heart because all these people are hear sending you love… and again, thanks to El Guapocito for his ever-lovin’ heart, right? Love, Amy

  15. Hi Merber, sorry to hear “why you blog”, chronic pain sucks. But you blog very well. I don’t feel qualified to answer “why I blog” as I’ve only been doing it for a week, but I started because I find lots of shit funny and my wife gets annoyed at me laughing at stuff all the time. πŸ™‚

  16. Thank you for sharing your experiences with chronic physical and behavioral health conditions! So important to increase awareness and help reduce stigma!

I would encourage you to check out Quartet’s Patient Advisory Committee, it’s a cool opportunity for people who are open to sharing their experiences with chronic physical and behavioral health conditions to make an impact: http://www.quartethealth.com/patients

  18. Hi Merbear, I have just found you and I decided to follow cause you wrote something that spoke to me and then just now I realised you have FM. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 20 years ago. So I could tell you a long story but I won’t. I just wanted to share with you the one thing that made the difference for me. 500mg L-Tryptophan / Day. It took exactly 3 1/2 weeks for it to kick in but it was my saving amino-acid. No side effects, it’s natural. Maybe you have already tried it but since I don’t know that I just wanted to mention it. That was 19 years ago. I am really quite well these days.
For other reasons I recently I discovered ‘The Mood Cure’ by Julia Ross. I got her book and I think she’s really onto something. You can find her here. http://www.moodcure.com
All the best and I look forward to reading more from your blog.

I have both and I was wondering if you’d be interested doing a guest post on either my mental illness blog or fibro blog. And I could do a guest post on your blog. It’s just a thought. I am trying to raise awareness for both mental illnesses and fibromyalgia. If you’re interested, please email me at jisoucie@hotmail.com. My mental illness blog is http://jitalkz.wordpress.com and my fibro blog is http://voiceforbutterflies.wordpress.com I look forward to hearing from you! Keep up the good work on your blog. πŸ™‚

  20. Cracking blog- I agree with your thoughts on depression, and it’s overall refreshing to read stuff that comes across as so personal about issues that usually only appear in sob stories on the news from time to time πŸ™‚

By the by, I’m looking for thoughts and opinions on mental illness for a wee project I decided to run with. If you could check the page out (https://whenitstopsraining.wordpress.com/2017/05/02/in-our-words/) I’d be chuffed with any feeback or opinion you can give.

  21. I have been wondering if you have tried CBD oil? It has really helped my depression, energy and pain levels and most of all my carpal tunnel. It is supposed to help with fibromyalgia as well as mental health. If not keep it in mind, it is worth a shot! Blessings to you.
